Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg’s Costume interview

logo

Here is a translation of some of the questions and answers from the recent interview with Countess Alexandra in Danish fashion magazine: Costume. Not everything has been translated, but I tried to incorporate a variety of the subject she talked about.

If you have the possibility to pick up the magazine, and can read Danish, I recommend doing so. The pictures inside are a lot less photo-shopped than the cover is, that is for sure.

Enjoy.

Mary visits Uganda & Alexandra fights breast cancer

logo

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark has embarked on her first official aid trip abroad this past weekend. Together with her Lady-in-Waiting Caroline Heering, the Crown Princess is travelling in Uganda with a delegation from The Danish Refugee Council (Dansk Flygtningehjælp), of which she is patron.

Today Monday she visited The AIDS Support Organization (TASO) to get informed about their work, meet with with patients and families and children in the play center, who are there while their parents receive counselling or medical treatment. Later during her visit to Uganda, which lasts until 2 October, Mary will also meet with returning refugees and migrants.

For pictures, go here, here, here and here.

Also this past Saturday, Crown Princess Mary’s former royal colleague Alexandra the Countess of Frederiksborg, the former wife of Crown Prince Frederik’s younger brother Prince Joachim, was out and about for one of her post-royal engagements that she still takes on every now and then. She officially opened The Danish Cancer Society’s campaign to focus on breast cancer this year, ” Støt Brysterne“, at the Royal Danish Playhouse in Copenhagen.

In her speech the Countess said:
- Many have told me that they suffer from a paralysing fatigue, have joint pains, have anguish for becoming bald and have problems to make their every day work as it did before. Therefore it is important that these women get help to move on – both physically, psychologically and socially. There should be more research so that we can have documented what is needed to help cancer sufferers back to a normal everyday life.
